Nottingham Forest decision to increase season ticket prices for the 2024-25 season has faced strong criticism from a fans group particularly due to significant rises in certain categories. The Nottingham Forest Supporters’ Trust opposes the price hikes citing their disproportionate nature compared to the current inflation rate of 3.2% in the UK. The club’s chairman, Tom Cartledge defended the increases stating the need for financial growth to maintain competitiveness especially with impending squad cost ratio rules.
Despite the backlash, Forest claims to have a sizable waiting list for season tickets and reports a 50% increase in renewals compared to the previous year. The club is also facing a four points deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules a matter set for hearing soon. This move follows similar price hikes by other Premier League clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur sparking discontent among fans across the league.
