During his Monte Carlo Masters semi-final defeat against Casper Ruud, Novak Djokovic lost his temper and angrily told a noisy spectator to ‘shut the f*** up.’ The incident occurred as Djokovic struggled in the match which he ultimately lost 6-4 1-6 6-4. It was Ruud first victory over Djokovic in six attempts. Djokovic frustration was evident as he faced another setback in his challenging 2024 season.

Despite rallying to take the match to a deciding set, Djokovic double-faulted on Ruud match point sealing his defeat. Reflecting on his performance, Djokovic acknowledged the disappointment of not meeting his high expectations but remained optimistic about building on the positives. He admitted that not having won a title so far in the year was below his usual standards, following earlier exits at Indian Wells and the Australian Open.

Despite the setbacks, Djokovic remains hopeful of improving his form and results as the season progresses.
