Sevilla has expressed strong condemnation and urged La Liga to take action after winger Lucas Ocampos was allegedly touched inappropriately by a fan during their match against Rayo Vallecano. Ocampos reported the incident to the referee and continued playing.
He emphasized the seriousness of the incident likening it to racism and expressed concern for his daughters’ safety in the future. Sevilla stated their disgust at the incident and urged for appropriate measures to prevent such behavior in football.
Rayo Vallecano also condemned the incident and pledged to identify the perpetrator for disciplinary action. Despite the incident, Sevilla emerged victorious with a 2-1 win with Youssef En-Nesyri scoring both goals.
