Padres Make Big Splash with Dylan Cease Acquisition from White Sox

The Padres have made a significant move in acquiring 28 years old right-hander Dylan Cease from the White Sox as the MLB season approaches. Cease a standout pitcher joins the Padres after a successful tenure with the White Sox where he garnered attention as the AL Cy Young runner-up in 2022. 

With an impressive track record of 97 starts and strong pitching statistics including a 3.54 ERA and 11.4 strikeouts per nine innings, Cease brings valuable talent to the Padres’ roster. In exchange for Cease, the Padres have given up three prospects and a veteran reliever highlighting the importance of this acquisition for the team.

The move is viewed as a strategic decision by the Padres to bolster their pitching lineup ahead of the upcoming season.
