The 2024 Paris Olympics will kick off with a scaled-down Opening Ceremony due to logistical and security concerns. Athletes will float down the Seine River past iconic landmarks like Notre Dame and the Louvre culminating near the Eiffel Tower.

Originally planned for a crowd of 600,000 spectators, the event will now host only 104,000 along the lower riverbanks and 222,000 on the upper banks. Security measures include 45,000 officers and restricted air traffic within a 90-mile radius of Paris.
