Jordan Spieth has revealed that player directors of the PGA Tour are nearing a meeting with the governor of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) in an effort to resolve the ongoing dispute affecting elite golf. Talks between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf backed by the PIF are ongoing with hopes of reuniting the fractured sport. Spieth mentioned that he and his fellow directors may meet with Yasir al-Rumayyan the governor of PIF in the coming days.

Despite missing the cut at Sawgrass, Spieth downplayed a rules controversy involving Rory McIlroy during the tournament. McIlroy struggled on Frida, finishing eight shots behind leader Wyndham Clark who continued his impressive form with a second consecutive 65. Matt Fitzpatrick remains in contention at nine under par.
