Mauricio Pochettino expressed a relaxed stance regarding his potential departure from Chelsea at the end of the season, stating that it wouldn’t be catastrophic. Following his team’s win against Tottenham last week, he called for an end to the “stupid rumors.”

However, the Argentine emphasized the importance of alignment between himself, his coaching staff and the club’s owners for him to continue his tenure at Chelsea. Pochettino acknowledged the ongoing evaluation of everyone involved in the club’s organization.

While Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly indicated progress in his plans for the club, Pochettino stressed that discussions with the board at the season’s end should consider his perspective as well.

Pochettino underlined the necessity for mutual satisfaction among all parties involved not just the owners or sporting directors. He highlighted the significance of the coaching staff’s input in such decisions, noting that it wouldn’t be unprecedented for them to opt not to continue.

The 52 years old manager, who has previously led Tottenham Hotspur and Paris St-Germain emphasized the need for consensus between the two parties in making any decisions.

Pochettino also acknowledged the possibility of parting ways, reassuring that it wouldn’t be a catastrophe. He emphasized that both sides’ satisfaction is crucial in determining the next steps.

Currently positioned seventh in the Premier League, Chelsea faces Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Brighton on Wednesday and Bournemouth in their final fixture on May 19th.
