Mike Tyson upcoming fight against Jake Paul could face cancellation if Tyson fails an EEG and EKG test as mandated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TLDR) for fighters over 38. The bout, scheduled for July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, is intended to be a professional contest but the final decision lies with the TLDR.
Even if Tyson passes the tests, the fight may still be classified as an exhibition leading to adjustments such as wearing 16-ounce gloves and having two-minute rounds instead of three. Additionally, there would be no official judges to score the fight. This event would mark Tyson’s first professional bout since 2005 with his last appearance in the ring being an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.
