The Premier League chances of securing an additional spot in the expanded Champions League for next season are in jeopardy following the eliminations of Manchester City and Arsenal from this season’s competition. Germany is now favored to claim the extra place with Italy also in contention. The outcome of Europa League and Europa Conference League quarter-final second legs could further impact the situation particularly West Ham  match against Bayer Leverkusen.

Aston Villa and Tottenham are locked in a battle for fourth place in the Premier League with Italy and Germany currently ahead in the race for extra Champions League spots based on clubs’ performances in European competitions. After recent matches, Germany leads in coefficient points followed by England and then Italy. West Ham and Liverpool face challenging second-leg matches while Villa remains England’s hope in the Europa Conference League.
