Manchester United and Liverpool have set the stage for an enticing FA Cup quarter-final after securing victories in their fifth rounds ties. Manchester United overcoming Nottingham Forest and Liverpool defeating Southampton are on a collision course for a high-stakes clash.

Reigning champions Manchester City will face Newcastle United in a home draw. Chelsea’s win against Leeds earns them a home tie with Championship leaders Leicester while Coventry the lowest ranked remaining side will face Midlands rivals Wolves.

The quarter-finals are scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, March 16. The draw was made before Wednesday’s games and the matchups promise thrilling encounters including the first late-stage FA Cup meeting between United and Liverpool since the 1996 final.
