Puma to end partnership with Israel in 2024
German giant sports manufacturer Puma in a statement by its spokesperson said that the company is parting ways from sponsoring the country in 2024.
However, the company said that it is a move that has been planned since last year, thus has no relation with the ongoing genocide spearheaded by Israel on the Gaza Strip since 7th October 2023.
Puma has faced a huge boycott over their products globally, following the two-month long offense by Israel, which has already killed 18000 civilians in Gaza.
Their contract with Israel national team will end in 2024, and the company said that several other nations – including Serbia – will not get sponsorship renewal, citing that they have new strategy on this matter.
The company has been supplying sportwears and kits to the national team of Israel since 2018.
There has been a growing number of global brands facing boycott calls led by a movement called Boycott, Divest, Sanctions (BDS) even before the Gaza war started.
