Emma Raducanu advanced to the third round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells after her opponent, Dayana Yastremska withdrew due to injury. Raducanu dominated with a 4-0 lead before Yastremska had to withdraw. This marks Raducanu’s first back-to-back wins since Indian Wells last year. She is now set to face either Aryna Sabalenka or Peyton Stearns in the third round.

In another match, British No. 1 Cameron Norrie defeated Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 6-4 to move on to the third round in California. Despite Norrie’s acknowledgment of his opponent’s subpar performance, he expressed gratitude for being able to play after recent illness. Norrie’s next challenge will be against the winner of the match between eighth seed Hubert Hurkacz and Gael Monfils. Despite some confidence issues, Norrie’s positive attitude and energy are highlighted as keys to potential improvement in his performance.
