RB20 Unveiling: Red Bull's Strategic Design Choices Keep Competitors Guessing

Red Bull has unveiled its RB20 car for the 2024 Formula 1 season showcasing design elements reminiscent of discarded ideas by Mercedes. The RB20 features long cooling gulleys along the engine cover similar to Mercedes’ 2023 W14 car. The car also incorporates a vertical sidepod radiator inlet retaining the downwash sidepod solutions while presenting a similar front-end to the RB19.

Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner hinted at possible changes before the Bahrain test and season opener. The RB20’s livery remains consistent with previous designs. The complex Venturi tunnel floor and Mercedes-like elements could be tactics to keep key aerodynamic features confidential.
