Real Madrid has lodged a complaint with Spanish legal authorities following racist insults aimed at their player Vinicius Jr. The incident allegedly occurred during a Champions League match against Inter Milan with similar chants reported from Barcelona fans in a prior game against Napoli. La Liga also plans to report the incident. Real Madrid condemned the racism stating they will pursue a zero-tolerance policy and seek identification of the perpetrators through security footage.

Vinicius Jr. expressed disappointment in the situation and called for UEFA intervention. This is not the first time Vinicius has faced racial abuse in Spain with previous incidents prompting fines and bans for offenders. Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti emphasized the need for collective action to eradicate racism from society emphasizing the importance of accountability for those responsible.
