Chelsea midfielder Jessie Fleming has completed a £250,000 move to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Portland Thorns. The 25 years old who secured numerous titles with Chelsea including three Women’s Super League (WSL) titles has also represented Canada with 123 caps and contributed to their Olympic gold in Tokyo in 2021.
Fleming scoring 12 goals in 111 games for Chelsea is set to join Portland for the upcoming NWSL season starting on March 16. The transfer is one of the priciest in American women’s club history and Portland Thorns’ head coach, Mike Norris is excited about adding Fleming’s midfield prowess and playmaking abilities to the team.
