Roma defender Evan Ndicka is reported to be in stable condition at the hospital following his collapse during the Serie A match against Udinese on Sunday. The game was halted in the 72nd minute after the 24 years old player from Ivory Coast fell unconscious and was stretchered off the field. He appeared to be conscious as he was taken away with the score tied at 1-1.
Roma shared a photo of Ndicka in the hospital, stating that he is feeling better and has received visits from his teammates. The club mentioned that he will undergo further tests while remaining under observation. Following Ndicka incident, the match was abandoned after consultation with the referee with medical staff and emergency services attending to the player.
Evan Ndicka who joined Roma from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 has made 19 appearances for the club. The postponed portion of the match is expected to be rescheduled for a later date.
