Meanwhile, Stephen Maguire secured a 13-9 victory over Shaun Murphy, setting up a quarter-final clash with David Gilbert. Maguire expressed the need for improvement despite his success. In other matches, Stuart Bingham and Mark Allen held leads over their opponents while Kyren Wilson dominated his match against Joe O’Connor.
