Root Stands Firm: Defends Shot Selection Amidst Test Series Criticism

England captain Joe Root has defended his shot selection during the recent Test series against India particularly addressing criticism for getting out to a reverse scoop in the third Test. Root who averaged 12.83 before the fourth Test, played a crucial innings of 122 in Ranchi. Despite the series loss, Root emphasized his commitment to playing the game based on situations and defended his shot choices.

He acknowledged the need for continuous improvement and evolution in the game. Root expressed confidence in the team’s positive approach known as ‘Bazball’ and highlighted the importance of expressing oneself while being pragmatic when needed. The final Test in Dharamshala marks the conclusion of England’s tour of India.
