Rassie Erasmus the director of rugby for South Africa’s national rugby team is in hospital recovering from chemical burns after an accident while using a strong detergent. Erasmus led the team to victory in the 2019 World Cup and played a significant role in their 2023 triumph as well.
He expects to fully return to work in a few weeks. With coach Jacques Nienaber now at Leinster, Erasmus has temporarily taken over coaching duties for the Springboks. South Africa’s next match is in July against Ireland in Pretoria.
