Southampton manager Russell Martin praised Rubin Colwill for his performance in Cardiff 2-1 win over Southampton. Despite Southampton dominance and several key saves by Cardiff’s Ethan Horvath, Famara Diedhiou and Cian Ashford secured the victory for Cardiff.
Martin expressed frustration over Southampton loss of three points and criticized the defending leading to Ashford late goal. It was Martin first loss at Cardiff City Stadium as a manager and he faced taunts from home supporters throughout the game.
However, Martin took the banter in stride acknowledging that he’s had successful visits to the stadium in the past.
