Former Manchester United loanee Marcel Sabitzer emerged as the hero for Borussia Dortmund securing their place in the Champions League semi-final with a 5-4 aggregate win over Atletico Madrid. Despite being 2-1 down in the first leg, Dortmund rallied to a 4-2 victory in the second leg with Sabitzer playing a crucial role by scoring the winning goal and providing assists for two teammates.

Sabitzer stellar performance may leave United fans pondering what could have been considering his impactful loan spell at Old Trafford. Reflecting on his time at United, Sabitzer expressed gratitude for the opportunity and credited it for boosting his confidence and form. He also praised United coach Erik ten Hag for his tactical acumen and mentoring approach.

Although Sabitzer move to United looked likely to be permanent an injury cut his season short, ultimately leading to his transfer to Dortmund. Now fully recovered, Sabitzer is focused on helping Dortmund progress further in the Champions League with their next challenge being a semi-final clash against Paris Saint Germain.
