According to Bastian Schweinsteiger, Xabi Alonso’s ‘dream’ is to manage Liverpool and he is expected to leave Bayer Leverkusen for Anfield in the summer. The 42 years old Spaniard is the leading candidate to succeed Jurgen Klopp who announced his departure at the end of the season.
Despite reports of Liverpool contacting Alonso in November, the coach has publicly focused on Leverkusen currently leading the Bundesliga table. Schweinsteiger a former Manchester United midfielder shared insights stating he believes Alonso will join Liverpool in the summer.
