Mason Greenwood faced taunts from Sevilla after his Getafe team was eliminated from the Copa del Rey on Tuesday. Despite being on loan from Manchester United and Getafe sitting seven positions above Sevilla in the league, Greenwood couldn’t influence the game, and they lost 3-1. Sergio Ramos, the former Real Madrid captain, played a pivotal role in Sevilla’s surprise victory, scoring within eight minutes. Although Greenwood was active on the ball, his efforts couldn’t turn the tide, leading to ridicule from Sevilla on social media after the match.
Sevilla posted images of keys, a wallet, a phone, and Greenwood in a Getafe kit, captioned, “Sergio Ramos emptying his back pocket after the game tonight.” Greenwood, who has yet to respond, previously expressed his happiness at Getafe on the club’s YouTube channel, emphasizing the support of fans. With three La Liga goals and four assists this season, Getafe is reportedly interested in making his loan move permanent.
