Simon Jordan Criticizes Jesse Lingard’s Move to FC Seoul, Calls It a Waste of Talent

Simon Jordan has strongly criticized Jesse Lingard for his decision to join FC Seoul, labeling it as a waste of talent and opportunities. Lingard, 31, recently made the surprising move to the South Korean club after being released from his Nottingham Forest contract. Despite receiving offers from numerous clubs worldwide, Lingard opted for FC Seoul, reportedly earning significantly less than his previous £100,000-a-week salary at Manchester United.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Jordan lambasted Lingard for prioritizing his “brand” over his on-pitch performance and accused him of squandering his potential. Jordan expressed frustration over Lingard’s career trajectory, highlighting his perceived lack of impact during his time at Nottingham Forest and his focus on social media presence rather than football.

Jordan’s criticism stems from Lingard’s perceived failure to capitalize on his talent and opportunities, particularly his move to a “nondescript” club like FC Seoul in a lesser-known league. Lingard’s decision to join FC Seoul has raised eyebrows, with Jordan questioning the rationale behind such a move and expressing disappointment in Lingard’s career path.

This isn’t the first time Jordan has voiced his concerns about Lingard’s career choices, previously expressing mixed emotions about the player’s focus on social media rather than football. Jordan views FC Seoul as an unconventional destination for Lingard, given its lack of prominence compared to top European clubs.

Lingard’s move to FC Seoul comes after a stint with Nottingham Forest, where he struggled to make a significant impact. Jordan believes Lingard’s career trajectory reflects broader issues within modern football, where players prioritize social media presence over on-field performance.
