Caroline Wozniacki has voiced her opposition to players banned for doping receiving wildcards upon their return following Simona Halep’s defeat in her comeback match at the Miami Open. Halep a two times major champion lost to Paula Badosa in her first match back after a four years doping ban which was later reduced to nine months.

Wozniacki emphasized the importance of a clean and fair sport, suggesting that players who have tested positive for doping should have to work their way back up from the bottom. However, Halep maintained her innocence stating that she did not cheat or dope and that her case involved a contaminated supplement rather than intentional doping.

Despite her loss, Halep remains focused on regaining her form ahead of the French Open and Wimbledon. Meanwhile, Venus Williams a three times Miami Open winner was defeated by 19 years old Diana Shnaider in another match at the tournament.
