Reports suggest that the 43-year-old is in the final stages of agreeing to a two-year contract extension, signaling his commitment to the Dammam-based club until 2027. Despite facing the departure of Jordan Henderson, a fellow ex-Liverpool captain, Gerrard seems determined to lead Al-Ettifaq through a transformative period.

Henderson, the 33-year-old midfielder, is on the brink of joining Ajax after facing challenges settling in Saudi Arabia following his £12 million move last July. His three-year contract, reportedly worth £700,000 a week, is expected to be terminated, opening a new chapter in his career.
