Tai Tzu-ying continues stunning performance in Hangzhou

At the BWF World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, China, Taiwan’s Tai Tzu-ying stunned South Korea’s An Se-young in the women’s singles semi-final. Tzu-ying was trailing 10-19 in the first game but rallied to take it 21-19, before winning the next two games 21-15, 22-20 to reach the final. 

Following five losses to Se-young earlier in 2022, including their previous meeting at the tournament, Tzu-ying’s victory was noteworthy.

After a 104-minute battle, Spain’s Carolina Marin defeated Chen Yufei of China in the other semifinal to advance to the final against Tzu-ying. 

With 11 victories apiece, Tzu-ying and Marin are tied in their head-to-head match.
