Thiago Silva is set to join Brazilian club Fluminense after Chelsea last Premier League fixture on May 19th. Chelsea has agreed to allow the 39 years old center-back to link up with his new teammates before his official registration takes effect on July 1st.
Silva who signed a two-year contract with Fluminense arrived at Chelsea from Paris St-Germain on a free transfer in 2020 and has since made 152 appearances for the Blues winning three trophies including the 2020-21 Champions League.
In April, he expressed his profound affection for the club while announcing his departure from Stamford Bridge this summer. Chelsea final game of the season will see them host Bournemouth with Mauricio Pochettino team currently seventh and vying for a European spot with three league matches remaining.
