Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer expressed his gratitude to the medics who saved his life after he suffered a cardiac arrest during a match against Bournemouth on December 16. Lockyer returned to Bournemouth to personally thank the medics before the rearranged fixture between the two clubs.

He described the medics as “heroes” and expressed his emotions upon seeing them again. Lockyer received a warm reception from both sets of fans and shook hands with the medics before the game. He acknowledged the significance of the moment and the importance of showing that he is doing well.

Lockyer has not played since the incident and was fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator after being hospitalized for five days. Bournemouth fans showed their support by raising funds to help Luton fans travel to the rearranged game.
