Miami Heat player Haywood Highsmith was involved in a car accident after Tuesday night’s game resulting in a collision with a man who was assisting another stranded driver. The crash reportedly left the struck man in critical condition with a partially amputated leg.

Highsmith (27) will miss the next game against the San Antonio Spurs due to “personal reasons.” The Heat expressed condolences and details about Highsmith’s return to the team remain unclear. The player undrafted in 2018 has played 37 games this season everaging 5.8 points and 2.8 rebounds.
