UFC 300: Pereira Crushes Hill in Ground Assault to Defend Championship

At UFC 300 in Las Vegas, Alex Pereira defended his UFC light heavyweight championship by stopping Jamahal Hill in a ruthless ground attack. Hill returning after an Achilles tendon injury couldn’t reclaim his former title. Pereira a former kickboxing champion displayed his power early on with kicks leading to a brief interruption from the referee after a low blow from Hill.

Pereira capitalized on this moment, overwhelming Hill with strikes to secure the victory. Pereira expressed his desire for a quick return to action aiming for a heavyweight bout in Brazil for UFC 301. Weili Zhang successfully defended her women’s strawweight title against Yan Xiaonan while Max Holloway claimed the lightweight BMF belt with a dramatic last-second stoppage of Justin Gaethje.
