Ukrainian Tennis Star Yastremska Shines in Australian Open Semi-finals

Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska expressed her pride in representing Ukraine after becoming the first qualifier since 1978 to reach the Australian Open semi-finals. She defeated Czech player Linda Noskova and will face China’s Zheng Qinwen in the semis. Yastremska conveyed support for Ukrainian fighters on the camera lens amidst the ongoing Russian invasion.

She dedicated her win to Ukraine, emphasizing it as her mission. Yastremska overcame a provisional ban for a failed doping test in 2021 is now two wins away from a major title, akin to Emma Raducanu’s 2021 US Open triumph. She acknowledged the significance of making history and expressed her emotions before the match.
