The Masters has granted rare invitations to three golfers for the upcoming event in April marking the first time since 1999 that three special invitations have been awarded in a single year.
Joaquin Niemann of Chile, Thorbjorn Olesen and Ryo Hisatsune have accepted these special invitations bringing the total field to 83 players as of February 21.
Niemann who criticized the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) as “unfair,” secured his spot through notable performances including a win at the ISPS Handa Australian Open. The 2024 Masters is scheduled for April 8 – 14.
