Weather Chaos Forces Monday Showdown at Cognizant Classic

Inclement weather disrupted the Cognizant Classic at PGA National leading to the first Monday finish of 2024 on the PGA Tour. Play was suspended due to rain, causing a delay of several hours. Erik van Rooyen initially surged to the lead shooting 28 on the front nine before the suspension.

However, upon resumption he struggled, finishing with an eight-under 63 one shot behind Austin Eckroat. Shane Lowry and David Skinns in contention faced challenges while Eckroat leading by one will resume play on Monday. This marks the first Monday finish since the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am due to weather disruptions.
