Wolves snapped a six-game winless streak in the Premier League and added pressure on relegation-threatened Luton with a victory at Molineux. Hwang Hee-chan scored his first club goal since December 27 giving Wolves the lead late in the first half. Wolves’ dominance continued in the second half and Toti Gomes doubled their advantage with a header.
Despite Luton late goal from Carlton Morris, Wolves secured the win, moving up to 10th place in the table. Manager Gary O’Neil praised the team’s performance and highlighted the positive aspects of the season, including financial stability and involvement of academy players. Meanwhile, Luton struggles continued as they suffered their 10th defeat in 13 league matches.
Morris was their main threat but lack of service limited their attacking opportunities. With their goal difference taking a hit in recent heavy defeats, Luton chances of staying in the Premier League are dwindling. Despite the difficult run of form, manager Rob Edwards remains optimistic and believes in the team’s ability to avoid relegation.
