Xabi Alonso’s Contentment in Germany Raises Questions Over Liverpool Managerial Plans

Xabi Alonso the top target for the Liverpool manager position is reportedly settled and content in Germany as he manages Bayer Leverkusen according to sources. Despite being Liverpool’s preferred choice since Jurgen Klopp’s announcement about leaving, Alonso and his family are said to be happy in Germany. It is suggested that he could continue leading Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League in the 2024-25 season.

While Liverpool remains optimistic about securing Alonso in the summer, he has a contract with Leverkusen until June 2026 and there is a clause allowing him to leave for his former clubs. Leverkusen under Alonso’s management, is currently leading the Bundesliga by eight points and eyeing a historic treble. Alonso a former Liverpool player spent five years with the club and is currently settled in Germany.

Klopp Liverpool’s current manager is set to leave at the end of the season having already secured the League Cup and leading the Premier League.
