The former Liverpool midfielder who took over at Leverkusen in 2022 has drawn attention for his team’s impressive performances including a recent 3-0 win over Bayern Munich. Klopp acknowledged the evolving landscape of football management and sees Alonso as a standout figure in the next generation of coaches.
The Liverpool boss emphasized Alonso’s coaching pedigree coming from a coaching family and having displayed coaching instincts even during his playing days.
