Andrew Musgrave Wins Bronze at Tour de Ski

Andrew Musgrave secured a bronze medal in stage three of the Tour de Ski World Cup in Toblach, Italy, marking the fifth World Cup podium of his career. The 34-year-old completed the 20km interval start freestyle event in 44 minutes 33.7 seconds, finishing behind Norway’s Harald Oestberg Amundsen and Simen Hegstad Krueger. Amundsen the defending champion claimed gold with a time of 44:05.3 while Krueger took silver, 21.2 seconds behind.

Musgrave’s performance places him sixth in the overall Tour de Ski standings with four stages remaining. Norway’s Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo leads the standings with Amundsen in second and American Ben Ogden in third. Reflecting on his result, Musgrave expressed satisfaction with his podium finish but acknowledged a desire to close the gap on Amundsen. “I’m happy with a podium but would have liked to have been closer to Harald,” he said, adding, “I’ll try and catch him tomorrow.”

The Tour de Ski World Cup continues with the men’s and women’s 15km pursuit classic on Wednesday, offering Andrew Musgrave another opportunity to climb the leaderboard. This latest achievement highlights Musgrave’s consistency and competitiveness in international cross-country skiing. At 34, he remains a key figure in British skiing, frequently challenging dominant nations like Norway and showcasing resilience against the sport’s top athletes.

The Toblach result builds on his impressive career, reinforcing his position as one of Britain’s most successful cross-country skiers. With Klaebo maintaining a strong lead in the overall standings, the competition intensifies as athletes prepare for the remaining stages. Musgrave’s determination to narrow the gap on the leaders promises an exciting conclusion to the Tour de Ski.
