Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the Boston Celtics to a 106-99 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in game three of the NBA finals, putting them ahead 3-0 in the best-of-seven series. Tatum scored 31 points while Brown added 30, propelling the Celtics closer to their 18th NBA title and first since 2008.

Despite the Mavericks narrowing a 21-point deficit to just one with three and a half minutes remaining, they couldn’t convert their comeback into a win. Kyrie Irving led Dallas with 35 points but Luka Doncic, contributing 27 points, fouled out with over four minutes left in the game.

Boston now needs just one more win to clinch the championship, with the next game scheduled for Saturday at 01:30 BST. Reflecting on the game, Jayson Tatum emphasized that the team remains focused and determined: “We’re not relaxing or thinking about winning. However long it takes, that’s our approach.”

Brown echoed Tatum’s sentiment, highlighting the Celtics’ resilience in securing the crucial victory: “It was a significant win for us. They had momentum, but we maintained our composure, made key shots and found a way to come out on top.”

Meanwhile, the Mavericks face an uphill battle, needing to make NBA history by overcoming a 3-0 deficit to win the series. Despite the challenge, Doncic remains optimistic and committed to his team’s unity: “It’s not over till it’s over. We just have to believe. It’s first to four, and we’ll stick together, win or lose.”
