Steve Kerr: Curry’s Ankle Injury a “Concern” After Loss

Steve Kerr head coach of the Golden State Warriors expressed concern over an injury to superstar Stephen Curry following the team’s 112-104 defeat to the LA Clippers. Curry, who is 36 years old limped off the court in the third quarter after twisting his ankle. Although he returned four minutes into the fourth quarter, he quickly aggravated the injury and needed assistance from teammate Gary Payton to reach the locker room.

“He’s doing OK. He used the word ‘mild’ or ‘moderate,'” Steve Kerr said about Curry’s condition. The coach noted Curry’s extensive history of ankle injuries, adding that the star player does not believe the injury is severe, but it remains a concern. Curry managed to score 18 points during the game marking a challenging start for the Warriors, who lost their opening match of the NBA season.

For the Clippers, Ivica Zubac and James Harden each contributed 23 points with Zubac recording his second consecutive double-double by grabbing 17 rebounds and dishing out six assists. Kerr praised Zubac’s performance, stating, “Every time they needed a bucket, they seemed to get one from Zubac.” In other NBA action, the Boston Celtics defeated the Detroit Pistons 124-118.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets narrowly fell to the San Antonio Spurs losing 109-106. The Miami Heat celebrated a special occasion as they unveiled a statue honoring franchise legend Dwyane Wade, who is the team’s all-time leading scorer and played a pivotal role in securing three NBA Championships during his time with the franchise. The Heat cruised to a 114-106 victory over the Charlotte Hornets in the same game.
