The Milwaukee Bucks’ Winning Streak Ended by Atlanta Hawks

The Milwaukee Bucks saw their seven-game winning streak end with a 119-104 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. Despite holding an early 10-point lead, the Bucks couldn’t maintain it. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 31 points, and Damian Lillard added 25, but the Hawks surged ahead thanks to strong performances from Jalen Johnson (23 points) and De’Andre Hunter (20 points) securing their fifth consecutive victory.

The Milwaukee Bucks will next face the Boston Celtics while the Hawks will take on the LA Lakers. The Lakers suffered their worst defeat of the season, losing 134-93 to the Miami Heat. Tyler Herro starred for Miami scoring 31 points including 21 in a dominant third quarter. The Heat also set a franchise record with 42 assists and made 24 three-pointers.

LeBron James and the Lakers, who have lost six of their last eight games continue to struggle having also been eliminated from the NBA Cup. Their season record now stands at 12-10. Lakers coach JJ Redick called the performance “embarrassing,” criticizing his team for lacking fight and professionalism.

In other games, the Boston Celtics defeated the Detroit Pistons 130-120, despite missing Jayson Tatum. The Orlando Magic bounced back from a heavy loss to the Knicks, edging out the injury-ravaged 76ers 106-102 in Philadelphia. The LA Clippers lost for the second time in five days to the Minnesota Timberwolves falling 108-80 while the Brooklyn Nets beat the Indiana Pacers 99-90.
