Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois Set for Wembley Clash

Anthony Joshua will face fellow Briton Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium on September 21. Oleksandr Usyk, the undisputed champion, vacated the belt, which elevated interim champion Dubois to full champion status. Anthony Joshua, a two-time world champion, enters the ring on a four-fight winning streak with three stoppages in his last three bouts. Meanwhile, Dubois won his last two fights against Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic to claim the interim title.

Initially, Ukrainian Usyk had hoped to retain the IBF belt for his rematch against Tyson Fury on December 21, but later changed his decision. Dubois aims for redemption following a controversial loss to Usyk in his first world title attempt, where a disputed low blow and a ninth-round stoppage played pivotal roles. Dubois boasts 21 wins from 23 fights, and Joshua stands at 28 victories and three losses, with both fighters bringing a combined 45 knockouts to the table.

This bout marks a significant return of high-profile boxing to the UK, with Wembley Stadium hosting its first major fight since Fury’s victory over Dillian Whyte in 2022. Joshua, a seasoned Wembley veteran, and Dubois, who is stepping into his first 60,000-plus capacity main event, are poised to decide who will challenge the winner of the Usyk-Fury rematch. This fight marks a significant return of high-profile boxing to the UK, with Wembley Stadium hosting its first major event since Fury’s victory over Dillian Whyte in 2022.
