Anthony Joshua Weighs In at 18 Stone for Title Fight

Anthony Joshua remains determined and dismisses any notions of nearing the end of his boxing career ahead of his heavyweight title fight against Daniel Dubois. Weighing in at 18 stone during an extravagant event at Trafalgar Square, Joshua, 34 prepares to challenge 27-year-old Dubois for the IBF title at Wembley Stadium this Saturday. Dubois, who weighs in at a career-high 17 stone 10 pounds has kept his words minimal, simply stating, “I’m ready to fight” multiple times.

Joshua likens himself to a gladiator, emphasizing his ongoing commitment to the sport. “I started late in boxing, but it shows you can achieve anything. I’m not a warrior in the garden yet; I’m still on the battlefield,” he says. The weigh-in features iconic London backdrops including double-decker buses and Nelson’s Column creating a festive atmosphere for one of Britain’s most anticipated fight weeks.

Despite his champion status, Joshua weighs in second showcasing his star power. He expresses gratitude to fans for their unwavering support urging them to pray for his success in reclaiming the title. “If I can ask one favour, go home tonight and pray for my success tomorrow,” he states. The fight represents a significant event as Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s general entertainment authority, organizes it and fans sell all 96,000 tickets.

The build-up includes elaborate promotional events and a performance from Liam Gallagher, further enhancing the spectacle. With 25 knockouts in 28 wins, Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois with 20 knockouts in 21 victories, promise an electrifying bout that many expect will end with a knockout.
