Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Rescheduled for November 15th

Jake Paul and former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson have rescheduled their highly anticipated fight to 15 November in Texas, after postponing the original date. Ireland’s Katie Taylor, the undisputed women’s light-welterweight world champion, prepares for a rematch against Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano. The bout will take place at the NFL team Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, serving as the co-main event. Initially scheduled for 20 July, the bouts were delayed because Tyson, who turns 58 this month, had to withdraw on medical advice following a recent ulcer flare-up.

Tyson expressed gratitude to the medical team and stated, “Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly. I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me. While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out.” Paul echoed the sentiment on social media, writing, “New date, same place, same fate.” The Tyson-Paul fight, airing on Netflix is a professional bout with eight two-minute rounds and 14oz gloves mandated.

Tyson, who hasn’t fought professionally since 2005, participated in an exhibition match in 2020. In 1987, he unified the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, but Buster Douglas caused one of boxing’s major upsets in 1990. Jake Paul, 27, won nine of ten fights, mainly against ex-UFC fighters, his sole loss against British boxer Tommy Fury.

The rematch the world has wanted to see

Katie Taylor will have a rematch with Amanda Serrano, whom she narrowly defeated via split decision in an all-time lightweight classic at New York’s Madison Square Garden in April 2022. Two judges favored Taylor, while one favored Serrano. Since then, Serrano has won all four world featherweight title fights and will face Taylor again in a higher weight class.

Taylor remarked, “This is the rematch the world has wanted to see. The first fight in New York was obviously an epic occasion and it more than lived up to the billing, and I’m sure the rematch will be no different.” After defeating Serrano, Taylor won against Argentina’s Karen Elizabeth Carabajal but suffered her first professional loss to England’s Chantelle Cameron in Dublin in May 2023. The pair had a rematch in Dublin in November, where Taylor emerged victorious via majority points decision.
