Tyson Fury Confident in Rematch with Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury insists he defeated Oleksandr Usyk in their May bout for the undisputed heavyweight title, claiming Usyk fought like a “local amateur boxer.” Usyk, 37, secured a split decision victory in Saudi Arabia to become boxing’s first four-belt undisputed heavyweight champion. Despite the loss, Fury maintains he watched the fight back and remains convinced he deserved the win.

“I’ve reviewed the fight numerous times, and my conclusion hasn’t changed – I believed I won,” Fury expressed on his YouTube channel. “Usyk knows he didn’t defeat me. It was actually easier than I anticipated.”

Tyson Fury, 35, acknowledged his mistake of enjoying the fight too much, comparing it to facing a local amateur. Usyk, undefeated in 22 professional fights with an Olympic gold and former undisputed cruiserweight champion, secured scores of 115-112 and 114-113 on two cards, while Fury received a 114-113 score from the third judge.

A rematch between the two fighters has been set for December 21 with Fury already back in training. Despite his confidence in his abilities, Fury emphasized the necessity of securing a knockout victory in the upcoming rematch with Usyk. He expressed concerns about the difficulty of winning a decision, underscoring his determination to leave no doubt in the outcome of the fight.
