Tyson Fury has returned to training in preparation for his rematch with undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on December 21 in Saudi Arabia. Last month, the English fighter suffered the first defeat of his professional career in a split decision loss to Ukraine’s Usyk. Fury, aged 35, expressed his eagerness for redemption, sharing a video on Instagram of himself training on a heavy bag. “I’ve accomplished everything in boxing except bouncing back from a loss,” Fury remarked. “I relish the opportunity to redeem myself. December 21st is my focus – undisputed, here we come.”

Despite eagerly anticipating the chance for redemption, Fury emphasized that the rematch is six months away. In their previous encounter, former WBC champion Fury was leading the fight until Usyk caught him in the ninth round with a knockdown. Although Tyson Fury recovered, the judges narrowly awarded the victory to Usyk. The rematch promoters scheduled the December fight promptly, but there is uncertainty whether the bout will once again involve the undisputed title.

The IBF is reviewing Usyk’s request to retain his title, having previously indicated their intent to strip him of the belt if he did not defend against their mandatory challenger. Usyk, aged 36, made history as the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era and the first since Lennox Lewis achieved this milestone nearly 25 years ago.
