Grant Bradburn Fired by Glamorgan After Misconduct Charge

Grant Bradburn has been dismissed as head coach by Glamorgan following a misconduct charge from an independent cricket regulator. The club referred Bradburn to the independent body after receiving allegations of inappropriate behavior. Glamorgan maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward discriminatory behavior, emphasizing their commitment to fair and transparent processes.

After conducting an internal investigation, the club determined that Bradburn’s position had become untenable and is now providing support to those affected.  Chair Mark Rhydderch-Roberts stated that Glamorgan prioritizes the well-being of its members, highlighting the club’s focus on respect and fairness. In response, Bradburn denied the allegations of discrimination, expressing disappointment with the process he has undergone.

He emphasized that he would never condone unfair treatment or discrimination, adding that he is seeking legal advice. Grant Bradburn refrained from making further comments at this time. Appointed in January 2024 on a three-year deal, Bradburn succeeded Matthew Maynard and Mark Alleyne as Glamorgan’s head coach. Prior to joining Glamorgan, Bradburn was the head coach of Scotland from 2014 to 2018 and later worked as Pakistan’s fielding coach.

In May 2023, he signed a two-year deal as head coach of Glamorgan but left his role with Pakistan after their failure to reach the 2023 World Cup semi-finals. Bradburn’s departure marks a significant turn for the club which now faces the challenge of moving forward after this development. The club’s statement assures that all parties involved will receive appropriate support during this time.
