Luke Wells impressed with a career-best equalling 66 runs from 32 balls and later contributed with two crucial wickets with his leg-spin, helping Lancashire defend their total of 176-8.

In another fixture, Derbyshire Falcons clinched a resounding 96-run win over Notts Outlaws, marking their first victory against their rivals since 2015. In the South Group, Kent Spitfires staged a remarkable comeback to secure a four-wicket win over defending champions Somerset. Meanwhile, Sussex Sharks handed Surrey their first defeat of the tournament with a convincing 36-run victory, propelled by Tom Alsop’s quickfire 68 and Daniel Hughes’ solid 65.
