Scotland will face England in their T20 World Cup opener at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, as England begins their title defense. To advance to the Super Eight stage, both teams must secure a top-two finish in a group featuring Australia, Namibia and Oman. England prepares for their first T20 World Cup match since their 2022 final victory over Pakistan at the MCG. Despite their success, they had a dismal campaign at the 50-over World Cup in India, finishing seventh. However, a recent 2-0 win against Pakistan in a rain-affected T20 series restored confidence in the squad.

Scotland, on the other hand, is gearing up for their third consecutive T20 World Cup appearance after dominating the European qualifying section. Their main aim is to secure qualification, but they aim to spring a surprise or two against formidable opponents like England and Australia. The England squad boasts firepower in their top order with players like Jos Buttler, Phil Salt and Jonny Bairstow, while Sam Curran’s all-round abilities add depth. Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer lead the spin and pace departments, respectively.

Meanwhile, Scotland relies on George Munsey’s batting prowess and Richie Berrington’s leadership to navigate the challenges posed by England’s formidable lineup. Brad Currie and Brad Wheal will spearhead Scotland’s pace attack, with support from spinners Chris Greaves and Mark Watt.
