Luke Littler Claims Maiden World Series Title with 11-4 Win

Luke Littler secured his first World Series of Darts Finals title with a decisive 11-4 victory over Michael Smith in Amsterdam. The 17-year-old displayed impressive resilience, overcoming a slow start where he fell behind 0-2 to quickly establish a commanding 7-3 lead by the interval. Littler maintained his momentum after the break, averaging an impressive 102.21 and clinching the win, which earned him an £80,000 prize.

Earlier in the tournament, Littler also defeated home favorite Michael van Gerwen 11-4 in the semi-finals and had started his day with a quarter-final win over Chris Dobey. This victory adds to Littler’s impressive 2024 season having already won World Series titles in Bahrain and Poland as well as the Premier League Darts title in May where he avenged his World Championship final loss to Luke Humphries.

Expressing his satisfaction, Littler noted, “I’m very happy to win. To come here and win on my debut is a good feeling. I’m playing well, so I will go back home and practice even more. There is no time to sit about; it’s a busy winter coming up.” He acknowledged the challenge of maintaining peak performance and expressed his desire for further success, saying, “Everyone wants to win everything, but I’ve learned you can’t do that. I would like to win another major title. I want the Worlds as anyone else does, but another major would mean the world.”

When asked if he considers himself the best player in the world at the moment, Luke Littler modestly replied, “Probably over this weekend. To average 103 over four or five matches has been really good, and I’m proud of myself.”
